Youth Advisory Committee Eligibility Criteria
The Luzerne Foundation is now accepting online applications for the 2026-2027 Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) session. YAC is a two-year leadership and philanthropy program open to rising 10th and 11th grade students who are passionate about making a difference in their communities.
- Applicants should have a genuine interest in community service, leadership development, and philanthropy.
- Selected students will be expected to actively engage with the community through volunteer service opportunities, collaborate with peers, and participate in meetings and discussions with community and business leaders.
- Members should demonstrate a willingness to participate in fundraising activities while learning the principles and practices of effective grantmaking, charitable giving, and community philanthropy.
- Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, dependable, open to learning, and committed to making a positive impact in the Greater Luzerne County community.
Please note that a limited number of spots are available for the 2026 – 2027 YAC Session, and this is expected to be a highly competitive application year. The selection process will take place in two phases: students must first submit the online application for review, and selected applicants will then be invited to participate in an interview for final consideration into the YAC program.
